Ararat Neighbourhood House is delighted to announce that our English as a Second Language (ESL) Program has been honoured at the 2025 Learn Local Awards, receiving state-wide recognition for excellence in adult community education.
This award celebrates the remarkable achievements of our learners, many of whom have arrived in Australia with limited English and a strong desire to build new opportunities for themselves and their families, their determination, resilience, and commitment to learning are at the heart of this success.
Our ESL program provides a welcoming, supportive environment where learners can develop practical language skills, build conference, and concoct with local community. From everyday communication to workplace readiness, the program empowers participants to take meaningful steps toward employment, further study, and social participation.
This achievement also reflects the dedication of our educators and volunteers, who bring patience, cultural understanding, and genuine care to every class. Their ability to create an inclusive, encouraging learning space ensures that every student feels valued and supported.
Winning the Learn Local Award reinforces the importance of accessible language education in reginal communities. It highlights the power of connection, belonging, and lifelong learning – values that sit at the core of Ararat Neighbourhood House.
