Second Bite program logo

"At SecondBite, we work with over 1,200 community food programs across Australia to redistribute rescued food to those in our community who need it most.

The organisations we partner with make a real difference to people’s lives, providing food, support, hope and friendship. For as long as we are needed, we will be here.

By providing surplus fresh, nutritious food, completely free of charge, we break down barriers to accessing healthy food.

Our agency partners provide programs as unique as the individuals that seek assistance. From pantry style services, to community meals, soup kitchens and emergency relief hampers, they typically offer more than just a meal. Connecting people to their communities, linking in services and providing a safe space are just some of the ways that our partners help their recipients get back on their feet.

With around 2 million people experiencing food insecurity in Australia, hunger doesn't discriminate. The reasons behind this are complicated, and we will continue to actively support the right to a dignified existence for all Australians."

FoodBank Victoria

At Foodbank Victoria we have a vision that we are working hard to achieve – that in the not too distant future, healthy food will be available for all Victorians irrespective of income or location.

This is a vision that may seem so simple, idealistic and almost impossible to achieve, but at Foodbank, we see food as a basic human right; a necessity for individuals to reach their potential; a device for interaction and inclusion; and a catalyst for communities to develop.

Striving towards our vision of ‘Healthy food for all’ means envisaging a Victorian community where every member can play an active role in creating a better society for all.
